WhereAnne’s Place – Directions

Program:

You’re invited to read Elle Luna’s The Crossroads of Should and Must: Find and Follow Your Passion, follow her suggestions to “look within” and “honor who you are, what you believe, and why you are here,” and join together for a lively potluck meal, creative activity and book discussion.

Agenda:

5:30 PM – 6:45 PM Gather, greet, enjoy a potluck meal
6:45 PM – 7:00 PM Clear dishes and bring out materials
7:00 PM – 7:15 PM Creative activity introduced by Anne
7:15 PM – 7:30 PM Create!
7:30 PM – 8:00 PM Sharing of discoveries and insights
8:00 PM – 8:30 PM Final insights and farewells

Provided:

  • All materials for a simple, brief, seated, creative activity requiring no knowledge, experience or skill – just a “look within” activity similar to the ones on pages 68-69 in Luna’s book.

What to bring:

  • Yourself
  • A dish to share that might inspire “looking within”! (Some regular attendees of A Woman’s Life Work have challenges with gluten, garlic and onions so if you would be open to identifying these ingredients in what you bring, that would be very helpful.)
  • Personal food or beverages if you would prefer
  • Your copy of The Crossroads of Should and Must

We’ll have coffee, tea, and filtered water from the tap to accompany our potluck. If you have special food needs, feel free to bring food servings for yourself so that you can feel comfortable.

Attire is absolutely whatever you would like!

What to do:

Background:

I received a review copy of Elle Luna‘s book in the mail in April, skimmed it, and put it aside in the sun room. I was busy. I was asked by a mentor to take a day off. To not be busy. I sat. I sat. I saw Luna’s book. I opened it.

I read it slowly that day-off morning. I read it again that day-off night.

I haven’t re-read a book since Harry Potter.

“It is constant effort and hard work – and inexplicably life affirming – to honor who you are, what you believe, and why you are here.”
– Elle Luna, The Crossroads of Should and Must: Find and Follow Your Passion

I don’t want to say much more than that. Just that the book is brief and beautiful and just right for busy, smart, informed, thoughtful women. I so look forward to hearing about your experience with the book.

News:

  • I’ve got a new book out! Laurel Sindewald has compiled and edited a manuscript of posts from my blog entitled Phoenix Rising. Here’s more about it.

Special notes:

  • Anne’s Place is an alcohol-free space.
  • Anne has two indoor-outdoor, keep-to-themselves cats. Cleanliness is maintained to help those with cat allergies be as comfortable as possible.
  • If you smoke, please use the side porch and the smokers’ receptacle.
  • This session of A Woman’s Life Work is a private event, invitation-only, and for adults only.
