Appointments

To request an appointment as a new client, please provide your email address via phone, voice mail, text, or email and I will send you registration information via email.

Appointments for in-person sessions are available in the afternoons and early evenings. Appointments for group sessions are available on Sunday afternoons and early Monday evenings. The community group meets in the early evening on Tuesdays. (Please read more about the community group here.)

Appointments for telehealth sessions for Virginia residents are offered at mutually convenient times. Telehealth services are available to Virginia residents only.

Fees

  • 50-minute individual sessions, in-person and telehealth: $125
  • 50-minute conjoint sessions for couples/partners, families, or more than one individual present: $150
  • 75-minute weekly group sessions, $40 per session. An individual session is required prior to entering a group. Cognitive Processing Therapy groups meet twice per week for 6-12 weeks, a total of 12 sessions, and are $50 per 75-minute session.

  • Text support, 2 responses per day, 7 days per week, $70 per week
  • For those beginning to address substance use issues who need generous support, a comprehensive, intensive counseling and support program is available. Please contact me for more information.

Payments

  • Services are offered on a self-pay basis. I have applied to become a provider through Anthem, Aetna, and Optima.
  • “Superbills” can be provided for submission to health insurance companies.
  • Clients can opt to pay directly for services. No third parties are contacted.
  • Credit or debit card information is collected at the time clients register. Co-payments or self-pay fees are billed on the day of service.  (For your electronic health record, we use HIPAA-compliant SimplePractice. Read more about SimplePractice’s security here.)
  • Online payment via credit or debit card is required for individual, partner, and family sessions and is the preferred method of payment for group sessions. Cash and checks can be accepted for group services.
  • Clients are responsible for all balances not covered by co-payments and health insurance company reimbursements.
  • Group therapy for mental health and substance use disorders is rarely covered by health insurance companies. Therefore, self-pay if required for all groups. The fee for group therapy is $40 per session, the level of most health insurance co-payments. Cognitive Processing Therapy group sessions for trauma are $50 per 75-minute session.
  • Services for substance use disorder and mental health treatment may be reimbursed by health insurance companies at lower rates than other health conditions. Balances due for services not covered may be higher than for other health conditions.

Nota bene

  • Cancellations in fewer than 24 hours and missed appointments are billed to your credit or debit card at the full rate. For more about this policy, please see the FAQs.
